07:26John Franklin Waldrip, who is Melvin and Janice and Marvin and Tommy's grandfather and a few others who might be in the room, he actually worked on the railroad, no surprise, right, in New Mexico, and he was a brakeman on the railroad.
07:43And on his days off from railroading, he worked at clearing land. There were large stumps, pine stumps left in some fields and orchards, and these needed to be taken out.
07:55And so John had a team of horses and a stump puller consisting of a heavy cable with a drum and a wooden beam.
08:12And while trying to pull an extra large stump one day, John was in an accident, and he was behind the beam, which splintered, and a piece of it came back hitting him in the side, breaking his wrist, two lower ribs and displacing a kidney.
08:35Jesus, please help me, and let me live long enough for my sons to take over.
08:50He was rescued and treated by a German doctor who just happened to be in that little town.
09:02After that, the doctor returned to Germany just before World War I and never was heard from again.
